I can't say enough great things about this book! I needed to develop an automated technology solution that could capture and analyze HTTP traffic. After discovering the power and flexibility of Fiddler, I realized I needed a Fiddler technical reference that would provide the detailed information I needed to code my solution. Debugging With Fiddler explains in clearly written language how to access the classes, objects, and events present within Fiddler using .NET JScript (JavaScript) to leverage and extend its capabilities in any way you can imagine. This is THE technical reference book you need to be able to fully take advantage of the incredible capabilities of Fiddler. Since Debugging With Fiddler is written by Eric Lawrence, the original (and current) developer of Fiddler, you get insight into the workings of Fiddler that no one else can provide. I HIGHLY recommend that anyone needing a comprehensive technical reference for Fiddler buy this book.

I was hoping this book would walk the reader through debugging using Fiddler, but it doesn't. This is not a how to book, and if that is what you are looking for, then keep looking. As a reference book, though, it is very good.

This is a great resource if you use Fiddler to do web debugging. Be aware the author has a later version 2 as of Feb 2016 as an ebook on the website fidderbook dot com, so I'd look into that. Another downside of the paperback is it's grayscale only whereas the ebook has color so that's why I took away a star from the paperback.

Fiddler is the go-to tool for anyone who has to troubleshoot web applications (either yours or someone else's). I've been using Fiddler for years, and have found it invaluable. However, I had no idea how much of Fiddler I was missing until I read Eric's book. Having already thought that Fiddler was impressively powerful, I've discovered a huge number of additional ways that I can use the tool for resolving issues more quickly. I am glad I bought this book, and it was worth every penny.

This is a very well written book by the author of the Fiddler tool. The only thing that would make it better would be a free download of the electronic version like many other books. I will probably end up paying the $9.95 to get the electronic version. Great book!

My guess is that a lot of Fiddler users will agree that it makes good sense to start Fiddler when troubleshooting Web content issues.Another scenario I use Fiddler for is working on code that calls a Web service. Creating and sharing Fiddler tracelogs is a time saving and productivity boosting habit that should in my opinion be adopted by members of Web content publishing teams.While Fiddler's user interface is simple and elegant, it initially takes some getting used to. After that, it is very effective for frequent work operations.Book about what Fiddler can do and how it is supposed to be used is very good news. It should make it easier to dig deeper into Fiddler's functionality and utilize it in a good way.The book gets five stars from me, because it is well written and immediatelly useful.

If you use Fiddler in your work, but have never really dug into its features, this is a terrific book. The extensibility of Fiddler is particularly cool. It was easy to use .NET to create a Fiddler extension very quickly. The openness of the tool is amazing.But there's also lots of great out of the box stuff that is useful to learn about as well. Thanks to Eric Lawrence for making such a difference for so many people.

This book is an amazing value. The quality of the technical content is high and includes many excellent diagrams and visual examples. (A picture is worth a thousand words is so true). I am very happy with the purchase.
